The Cornell Lab of Ornithology engages in a wide-variety of outreach and education projects. My part of this big picture is to design and teach workshops focused on how to use eBird and Merlin to be a better bird watcher and steward for your local environment. I work with the great Lilly Briggs and Chris Wood on these endeavors. The Macaulay Library, where I work, has a long history of teaching sound-recording workshops. I also help with these workshops (mostly I just learn from them), and incorporate elements of these workshops into our eBird and Merlin workshops.
We currently have three upcoming workshops:
* Guatemala BirdFair, early June 2019.
* Tirimbina, Costa Rica, co-taught with the University of Costa Rica and Luis Sandoval, late July 2019.
* Jaco, Costa Rica, hosted by the Los Sueños Marriott, early August 2019.
